Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
Slice the Kassler into bite-sized pieces and chop the onion.
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
Add the Kassler pieces to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until slightly browned.
In a baking dish, layer the sautéed Kassler and onion mixture evenly.
Top with the drained pineapple chunks.
In a bowl, mix the cream, half of the grated cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.
