Tender and juicy baby back ribs coated in a rich, homemade BBQ sauce, slow-cooked to perfection for a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
Prepare the ribs by removing the silver skin from the back for better flavor absorption.
In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create the dry rub.
Rub the mixture generously over both sides of the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meaty side up.
In a separate bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Reserve half for glazing later.
Pour the water into the bottom of the baking sheet to create steam during cooking.
Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil to keep them moist while baking.
Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until they are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.
Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
Brush the reserved BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs.
Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through until caramelized and sticky.
Once done, remove from the oven, let rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with extra BBQ sauce and coleslaw.
