A quick and simple spaghetti bolognese recipe that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. This hearty dish features a rich meat sauce served over al dente spaghetti and topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Simmer the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
Combine the cooked spaghetti with the bolognese sauce, mixing well to coat the pasta.
Serve hot, topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
