Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
Layer the cheese slices on top of the bread in the skillet.
Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
